To Cassies Place.... I cannot begin to thank you for all that your program has done for my brother Albert. Since the first week we noticed a big improvement in his speech and in the way he communicates. Your program provides all the necessities that are needed for his achievements and growth as an adult. Not only does he speak more but he will initiate the conversation which in the past was never a thing. I also want to thank you for your personal touches. All of you have a gift and it shows in the progress of all your registrants/students. You have made my mom Sawsan Habib so happy...actually the happiest she's been in a long time. We cannot wait to see all the new and exciting progresses to come from Albert. Also, he is so anxious to wake up and get dressed every morning. He literally sits by the font steps with his jacket, shoes, hat and gloves on awaiting the sound of your door bell and the honk from your car. He loves attending Monday Night Bowling and tells us all about how he is getting better and better. He loves attending karate and music class and it shows in al of the videos and pictures you post daily on your social media pages. You guys have truly been a blessing to him and to all of us. We will gladly support you and your whole team with any new project or adventures that you may want to conquer in the future. We hope to have Albert in the program indefinitely as he is quite happy and fulfilled. Thank you for opening up this program and we wish your business an abundance of blessings so that you can do all things. Thanks for all you do. Sara Rouel Rodrigues

I am deeply grateful to Cassie's Place for the profound impact they've had on my son, Isaiah, and our family. From the start, it was clear we had found something special. Isaiah's journey here has been remarkable. Initially hesitant and struggling to find his place, Isaiah has blossomed into a confident, joyful young man, all thanks to the nurturing environment and dedicated staff at Cassie's Place. When Isaiah first arrived, his challenges with eye contact and communication were significant. It was heart-wrenching to witness his struggle to connect. However, Cassie's Place embraced Isaiah with open arms, providing the support he needed to thrive. Today, the transformation in Isaiah's social skills is remarkable. He effortlessly makes eye contact, engages in conversations, and uses his unique sense of humor to bring joy to those around him. Watching him interact confidently with his peers, telling jokes, and making others laugh is a testament to his incredible progress. Cassie's Place has been instrumental in nurturing Isaiah's social development, providing a supportive environment where he feels accepted and understood. Their dedication to his individual needs has been truly life-changing. As a mom, witnessing Isaiah's journey from struggling to communicate to confidently expressing himself fills me with immense pride and gratitude. Cassie's Place hasn't just helped Isaiah develop social skills; they've empowered him to embrace his uniqueness and shine brightly in his own way. For that, I am eternally grateful.

Nikki and I were very fortunate to meet Victoria Street through Special Olympics Caledon. From there we learnt of the day program she was opening in Shelburne. My daughter has been attending the program for almost a year now and loves it. I was lucky to be accepted as a volunteer and spend the day there with a great group of participants. We have been on many amazing day excursions as well as celebrating all the special occasions. Crafts, cooking and lots of laughter are also a part of our days. Cassie’s Place has added virtual sessions to the program which has also brought us fun and exciting Thursday nights.
Both Nikki and I have made some lasting friendships. We look forward to the many adventures still to come.
My daughter Alexandra has been a participant of Cassie’s Place for almost 1 year now. She is absolutely IN LOVE with all her new friends and her “teachers” (that’s what she calls Victoria and Michelle). She has come so far in the short time she has been a part of Cassie’s Place. She is becoming more independent and so “grown up” from when she left her public school program. I want to thank all the participants, Victoria, Michelle and all the support workers for being so welcoming to Alexandra. We have seen some great strides in Alex and hope to see more great things in the future. My family and I are forever grateful for your hard work and support. When you join Cassie’s, you become part of a family!
I also want to say thank you for all your efforts this past couple of weeks! Joseph had a great time everyday that he was with the group. You are each amazing! He was so happy when he arrived home today. He had a great day and was excited to show me the medal that he was given. So generous of you! Thank you for all your hard work and for making everyone you support feel special and included. Thank you.
Lauren has been attending Cassie’s Place day programs, virtual sessions and the bowling league for a number of years. She has thrived in all of these programs, becoming more confident, communicative and engaged with her peers. The instructors are caring and kind, and take time to organize activities well-suited to the various needs of the participants. Lauren always returns home from Cassie’s Place with a smile on her face, anxious to share all of that she has learned and the fun she has had!
Programs at Cassie’s Place teach life skills in a fun and nurturing environment that encourages participation in community life. Sharing responsibilities for everyday tasks, celebrating special events, learning from each other, and fostering inclusivity are featured components of the approach, effectively ensuring participants develop a stronger sense of themselves and their abilities. I highly recommend Cassie’s Place for anyone looking for programming for individuals with developmental challenges. Cassie’s Place website says it all: Empowering Abilities, Enriching Lives.

Cassie’s Place is operated by a caring team whose primary aim is to foster the development of individuals with Intellectual disabilities. They provide a warm caring environment with fun, engaging activities that keep participants focused on their task which helps them learn. Self-help skills, social skills, fine and gross motor skills are encouraged. My son is always eager to go and prepares himself the night before. He loves the activities: helping to prepare lunch, boxing, doing crafts and academics keep him safe and me worry free.

My son Bradley has been attending Cassie's place for a little over a year now. When I heard about the program from another participants mom and was excited to find out more about it. Since Bradley had never attended a day program before (he was still in school before Covid hit), I was a little hesitant to send him anywhere. After calling and talking to Jacquie, Michelle and Tara, they put my mind at ease, and I decided to sign Bradley up for 2 days a week (Wednesdays for their cooking/baking day, and Thursday for their academic day). I was suprised to have Bradley coming home with goodies that they had baked that day. He even came home with leftover birthday cake that was made specially for him! He comes home excited to tell me all about his days and all the new friends that he has made. They are all like one big happy family. The participants are not "just participants" to these ladies, they are family. The ladies are always there for any of them for anything big or small. Always wanting to teach/help anyway they can. Cassie's place also has monthly virtual classes that are open to anyone with special needs. It is an amazing thing to see them all on the screen and hear them all talking to each other (Jacquie and Michelle too)! It has been a huge relief for me to find a place where Bradley fits in so well, and has made so many new friends, and if he's happy, I'm happy. Way to go Cassie's Place.!!!

My family would like to thank the staff volunteers and friends for the support given to my niece Kylie Smith since joining the team at Cassie's Place, Kylie has benefited immensely from this program she has gained self confidence made new friends and has become more independent as a result of the efforts put forward by the Cassie's Place team. The staff continue to provide ongoing support and add new opportunities for growth for Kylie. Also members associated with the program have provided insight and assistance with transcending the multiple levels of government services both provincially and at the county level to ensure that Kylie is receiving the best care available to meet her needs. Kylie has demonstrated significant improvement in her mental and physical being since joining the program. The continuation and growth of this program is essential as there are few opportunities available to these young adults with developmental disabilities. In order to maintain this service and with the success and significant growth of the program it is becoming more difficult to support Cassie's Place financially from within. We would encourage any level of government or organization to assist with funding this program.
